Paul D. Johnson – President
Paul
Johnson became President of Johnson Brothers Lumber
in 1983. Paul is a graduate of Penn State University
where he played football under legendary coach
Joe Paterno. After graduation, he was drafted
into the NFL. These experiences shaped his belief
in teamwork and leadership as key facets of success
in life. JBL remains a family-owned business that
runs like a team – each person plays an
important role in the success of the business.
Paul
is a dedicated member of the Cazenovia community
where he has lived for more than 50 years. He
has served on the board for the HMA and contributes
regularly to many organizations both within and
outside our the industry.
Joel
Struebing – Sales Manager
Joel
has been with JBL for more than 10 years. A graduate
of Colorado State University, Joel majored in
Forestry and has been working in the industry,
both buying timber and selling lumber, for more
than 20 years. Joel has a unique position in our
global sales as he himself is a graduate of the
American School in Japan. He brings a “hands
on” knowledge of Asian culture and business
that he observed and was a part of growing up
overseas.
Michael
Johnson – General Manager
Mike
literally grew up in and around Johnson Brothers
Lumber and has a keen understanding of the soul
of company developed from years of experience
in the business at his father’s side as
a child. Today, Mike integrates that knowledge
with a strong business sense developed while studying
business and economics at Penn State. Like his
father, Mike also played football under coach
Paterno and brings the lessons he learned on the
field into the daily operations of the business.
In his role as General Manager, Mike is deeply
involved in almost every aspect of JBL.
Heather
Mitchell – Secretary
The
youngest daughter in the Johnson family, Heather
has been working for the company for more than
15 years. A graduate of Katherin Gibbs in Boston,
Heather has spent most of her professional career
working in office settings. She handles all the
daily office operations of a business with gross
sales of over $10 million annually.
Kara
Connellan – Office Supervisor
Kara,
the oldest sibling of the Johnson children, has
worked for JBL for more than 5 years. She works
in logs and timber purchasing. Kara is in charge
of the purchasing of, scaling/measuring volume
of, and payments toward the over 5 MMBF of log
volume processed annually at JBL.
